My name is Barbara Mayne, and I am the Founder and CEO of Giant Steps Nursery.

I am a woman whose life has taught me that even in our most difficult seasons, there can still be meaning, growth and hope. 

​

My journey has shaped the way I see people, the way I listen, and the importance I place on creating spaces where others feel understood rather than judged. Over the years, I have come to appreciate that behind every person is a story, and behind every smile there may be an experience that the world knows nothing about.

My book, 'Suffer The Little Children' allowed me to put into words my experiences that have remained close to my heart and to reflect on how grief, faith and love can shape the person we become. My book is not simply about what I have endured, it is about what I have learnt, what I continue to carry, and the hope that can emerge when we find the courage to face our stories.

I believe that sharing our experiences can create connections that silence never will. My hope is that my words will encourage someone to feel less alone, give another person the courage to speak about their own experiences, or remind a reader that their circumstances do not have to define their future.
